Junior High-Episode "It's Late" Degrassi Junior High Episode-"It's Late." Degrassi Junior High is a television series that aired on PBS during the late 80's. This show has been a favorite among educators for years. The first season of the show recently became available on DVD. The VHS episodes are also still available. In this half hour episode, Christine, also known as Spike gets intimate with another 7th grader named Shane at Lucy's party. Shane and Spike are going steady. As the weeks progress, Spikes mother notices that she has become cranky and her appetite has changed and that she is much more tired than normal. Spike discusses her late period with her friends who convince her to take a pregnancy test. Spike also shares with Shane that she thinks that she might be pregnant. Spikes goes with her friends to purchase a pregnancy test. Much to Spikes dismay, her mother inquires about what she has in the bag when she comes home. Spike throws the pregnancy test at her mother. Spikes mother is sad and tells her that they will go to see a doctor. Shane shows up and goes with Spike to the appointment where we learn that Spike is pregnant. This episode is an excellent episode to share with preteens and teens.
The best thing about this episode is that it shows just how easy it is
to get pregnant. It was Spikes first time and they were only in the room
at Lucy's house for a short amount of time and a baby was created
